Ed joined Social Tech Trust in 2016 and leads the charity to deliver our vision of a world where social transformation drives tech. Passionate about the potential of socially motivated tech, Ed has a background in social investment and venturing. He joined the Trust from the Cabinet Office, where he led the government’s work on innovative finance – blending philanthropic and commercial investment to scale ventures by developing initiatives including the Dementia Discovery Fund.
Kate brings over a decade of financial advisory and investment experience. Kate started her career in KPMG Financial Due Diligence, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant with ICAEW. She later switched to the KPMG Corporate Finance London Regions team, working as a manager on transactions under £100m in a variety of sectors. Kate then spent three years in the Investment Team at Marwyn Private Equity, where she was actively involved in fundraising and managing transactions from origination through to completion.
Trupti leads on all internal operations of the Trust to support the team, our Board and funded ventures. Trupti has veritable encyclopaedic knowledge of the Trust, having been here pretty much since we started, alongside a wealth of experience in systems and reporting from her background in finance.
Marketing and Communications Manager
Jess heads up our communications activity and ensures everything we do is driven by our vision of a world where social transformation drives tech. Jess is the voice of our organisation, sharing our passion for socially motivated tech, through an engaging variety of comms channels. Jess previously worked at RM Education, marketing tech to schools and building strategic partnerships with Education Authorities.
Annie works with our partners to ensure that social impact drives all of our investments and our programmes, such as Tech to Unite Us. She brings over 15 years’ experience in the social sector to her role as a Development Manager and specialises in building cross-sector collaborations to find innovative ways to take on the biggest social opportunities of our time.
Kathy has been with the Trust since 2012, and as a Portfolio Manager has plenty of experience in helping early-stage organisations to grow. She works closely with all the organisations the Trust invests in, as well as with collaborative partners, helping us maximise the social impact achieved with our investments.
Irene Omaswa is leading on scaling up the Trust’s technical assistance programme for ventures. She has over 15 years of experience spanning various sectors including ecommerce, payments, telecoms and financial services. This included 8 years at eBay in a variety of UK & EU leadership positions. Most recently, she has had various roles in startups including her own ventures as well as CEO of an early stage digital food startup, brought on by the founder to lead the team through a pivot and develop a vision and a growth plan. She is passionate about the transformative potential of tech for good.
Sol works with our partners to deliver the Trust's technical assistance programme to help ventures grow and develop. Prior to the Trust, Sol led R&D at the Impact Management Project (facilitated by Bridges Fund Management). In this role, she worked closely with all types of enterprises and investors to measure their social impact as well as to develop practical materials for large-scale adoption. Sol also worked for Nesta, leading research on how to create ecosystems where startups can thrive.
